Introduction

Let's imagine-for just a moment-that you received an email from the offices of our local newspaper asking you to conduct interviews with famous Californians (dead or alive).  Are you imagining yet?? Well guess what? That educational fantasy will soon be your (partial) reality.  That's right, you will be conducting interviews with famous Californians as part of your ongoing study of our state.

Task

Your task during this WebQuest is to create an interview with a famous Californian.  Using the Internet, you will discover interesting facts about your chosen celebrity.  Once you have completed the research you will create an interview asking and answering questions as if you were that person.

Process

  1. Begin by reviewing these sites to obtain some basic information about a few different famous Californians.

  1. Once you have looked over the Internet site look over Tips for Interviewers.  Use this site as a guide to assist you in preparing for your interview.  Come up with three well thought out questions that you would like to ask your chosen Californian.
  2. Answer the questions that you have created.  Keep in mind that you are responding as if you were that person.
  3. When the interview and research is complete you and your partner will be required to simulate the interview in front of the class.  One person will be the interviewer while the other will be the famous Californian.  You will be required to dress as your famous Californian would.
